Nothing In Between

Logline:

Uprooted from their homeland and the lives they love, Ukrainian dancers scattered across different countries transform displacement into movement, discovering that healing begins where belonging is  resignified.

"Having the chance to receive genuine, in-depth feedback from talented and experienced professionals is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I’m committed to making the most of it. As an immigrant from Brazil living in London, my own search for belonging deeply shapes my creative journey. Through stories inspired by real refugee experiences and resilience, I hope to share something that fosters empathy and hope — both of which feel more important than ever today".

She began her career at a small production company specialising in documentaries. This gave her the valuable opportunity to work with small crews and gain hands-on experience across many areas of filmmaking.

Over the years, she has worked in scriptwriting, developing funding proposals, producing, sound and camera operation, editing, and directing.

This breadth of experience was fundamental to her growth as a director. Her portfolio includes two short films: the documentary Thread in Blue (2011) and the fiction short Home Sweet Home (2014). Most recently, Tassia directed her debut feature, Ties (2025), which is currently screening at film festivals around the world.

Nothing In Between project will be presented among others during lab: Displaced Women Pitch in London, January 2026.
